Overview

Why did it ask for my old password?  This happens when a student uses the Chromebook and changes their password on a different device (maybe a different Chromebook) then comes back to log in.  The Chromebook recognizes that the user has logged into the device before, but does not recognize the new password.  Chrome thinks this is helpful by asking for the old password to sync any data that may have been stored locally on the device.

Instructions

If you see a message on the Chromebook to 'Please enter your old Chromebook password', complete the following steps:

1.  To the left of the Next button, click the link, 'Forgot your old password?'as illustrated.

2.  Click the 'Continue anyway' button as illustrated ignoring the warning.

3.  Log into your computer with the current password.
